Smart's Fun Familia 2013 Part 1:Commuting to Manila Ocean Park via LRT Lanes

My brother A is from Smart Communications. And this year, the kids and I were lucky to be part of Fun Familia 2013 again since we were able to join them two years ago. It is a family day were all Smart Communications employee can avail of discounted entrance and coupons to their preferred venue. For this year, they had a choice of going to Enchanted Kingdom, 8 Waves Waterpark  and Manila Ocean Park. "A" chose Manila Ocean Park since they have not seen it yet.

Since hubby was in out of town and Nanay wanted to have a break from driving, we took the commuters way to our destination. From Marikina we rode the jeepney to LRT 2 Katipunan Station, each payed PhP 8.00. A took these photos while we where on our LRT 2 ride:

The excited ones sight seeing <3
Then we got off Recto Station and walked to the nearby LRTA 1 Doroteo Jose Station, it was a sight to see wooden houses with cable disc, almost one house after the other along the way. Nanay was wondering where they get the electricity and how they pay it. Anyway the walk was like a fifteen minute exercise, with all the stairs we had to take. The boys was just a bit impatient when we reached the station because they were really excited already. We waited for a while for a train to take us in UN Station:

I was amazed that this stored value ticket worth Php 100.00 can be used on both LRTA Lines, convenient nho?

The LRT 1 train is more crowded than LRT 2 but luckily someone gave their sit to the pregnant me. We got off UN Station and waited for a motorcycle ride to Ocean Park, each person payed Php 20.00 and we rode 2 motorcycles.

If you also plan to visit Manila Ocean Park soon and commute in this heat, bring a hand fan and lots of water so you will not be dehydrated. So that is how we got off Manila Ocean Park via LRT 1, LRT 2 and motorcycle ride. Next part would be my tale about the Manila Ocean Park's Oceanarium,  Travel to Antartica, the Sea Lion show and our sidetrip to the Trick Museum at Seri Fantasy World located at the Manila Ocean Park as well.
