Peace na, Peace Tayo!

Did you know that the month of September is National Peace Consciousness Month in the Philippines? September was declared such under Proclamation No.675 signed on 20 July 2004 by then President Gloria Macapaga-Arroyo. The Presidential Proclamation was issued to "instill greater consciousness and undertanding among the Filipino people on the comprehensive peace process to strengthen and sustain institutional and popular support for and participation in this effort, as well as in the global movement spearheaded by the United Nations to promote a Culture of peace based on nonviolence, respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, tolerance, understanding and solidarity. " September was chosen because several peace-building milestones happened during this month, like the signing of the 1996 Peace Agreement between the government and the MNLF on 2 September 1996, and the UN Declaration of 21 September as International Day of Peace. For Bebengisms Birthday Cyber Party: My Dynamic Duo

Image
"For Bebengisms Birthday Cyber Party" , I am going to share five wonderful facts about my dynamic duo, Tato and Toti. First, like the generous September birthday celebrants, Queen Denise and Princess Sophia of the cyber palace Bebengisms , we also belong to a military family. Hubby is also an Army guy and raising kids in a sometimes single parenting set-up seems to be a roller coaster ride. But I can say that with our kids, everything is worthwhile. Although my children are two uniquely different little men as I have posted here , I can say that there are five facts that both of them share and make them my dynamic duo: 1. They love the water. Both Tato and Toti loves to take a dip whether the bathroom balde, their inflatable pool, swimming pool or the sandy beach. There must be something in the water that freshens up their soul. Here they are in our last summer trip in Lian, Batangas.   2. They are always curious about art, animals and everything around them.

Faithful Fridays#12

Image
Source This Friday, I would like to share God's faithfulness to my family, both my own young family and the family I was born into. Some of you know that we have lost my brother Jo and up to now, justice had not been served, although we claim that their is a purpose in this incident. And we know that Jeremiah 29:11 still speaks to our life.

Kids at Play

Image
Kids and playing are two inseparable "thing". Parents of young kids would agree. And it is always a joy seeing my little cubs enjoy what they love doing . Play for me comes in any form, be it physical or mental. One does not have to be all sweaty to say that they've played but getting dirty, stinky and tired once in a while is okay. Sabi nga, sige sa mantsa. They may get bruised or bumps but what matters is they have learned and enjoyed the process. Here are my boys in some of their smartest and wackiest form of play this month: Craft Time with Wicked Craft at Mom Pop Up Event Doctor Lachica at Kevin's Playhouse, Market!Market! Carousel and Motorbike Fun at SM Bicutan Super Toti, a night before his 1st Periodic Exam

When Old Wounds are Touched

If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever. ~The Crow, written by James O'Barr, David J. Schow, and John Shirley, 1994 We'll I guess we haven't move on, not just yet, or is it because I'm really a cry baby. I appreciate the fact that some people do care and are willing to help with Jo's case. God bless them and God bless our family too especially Nanay and Tatay. Its been almost a year since my brother's death and we haven't heard a positive note from the authorities. Our family have "moved on" with our lives but the pain remains and this pain would always remind us to pursue our quest for justice, no matter what it takes. For those who would want to know what I'm talking about feel free to drop by Joross' site .
